How To Get Jalapeno Juice Off Your Hands

If you’re here looking for how to get jalapeno juice of your hands (quickly) SCROLL DOWN!!  I feel your pain!!

Well, for those of you who don’t follow my twitter stream you wouldn’t know it but the other night I was making a special dinner for my hubby.  I cut open and seeded some jalapenos, thinking nothing of it (as I had done this before).  Shortly after being done I washed my hands and carried on about my business.  Little did I know but I was about to be attacked by jalapeno juice!!  I hadn’t worn gloves…and the juice got into the pores of my skin.  Here are some of my tweets from that night…after exhausting Google search to find something that would take the burn out of my hands:

Remember those are in reverse order…and there were many more after that.  I tried everything….and for those of you reading (if you need it) you can try these things too…apparently they work for some people…just not me.

Try rubbing the following on your hands and/or soaking your hands and/or washing your hands in these, or scroll down to the next paragraph to find out what worked for me:

  • Lemons/Oranges/Citrus Juice
  • Peanut Butter
  • Butter
  • Milk
  • Vegetable Oil
  • Ketchup
  • Alcohol
  • Dawn Dish Detergent
  • Toothpaste (Made my hands smell minty fresh…but they actually burned worse!)
  • Drinking Milk
  • A concoction of Baking Soda, Dawn Dish Detergent and Hydrogen Peroxide

Upon the suggestion of a friend I finally tried rubbing aloe on my hands.  That worked.

I don’t recall the site (and if you know please tell me) but she referred me to a site where people that had been sprayed with pepper spray used aloe to soothe their skin.  After applying aloe to my hands every few minutes for about 30 minutes they were finally soothed.

I'm SO glad you finally found something that worked. I KNOW you were in a lot of pain! I had thought of Aloe, but for some reason, I thought it had already been mentioned. All in all, I honestly think it was prayer that was the key! :0)

I really like this Tuesday Tips Meme. I will keep it in mind for the future. I hope you have an amazing day!

    Blessings,

I'm stopping by from SITS as well. I hope I never have to experience my hands burning like that, but if I do, I'll know what to try! Thanks for the tip. =)
